Introduced by Sen. Rosemary McAuliffe, (D-Bothell) (D) on January 26, 2009, to increase the number of positions of tenured employees at community and technical colleges. This bill requires community and technical colleges to work through the collective bargaining process by October 1, 2009 to increase the number of full-time positions. The intent of this legislation is to turn part-time non-tenured positions into full-time tenured positions. (See also Companion HB 1353) .

This would prevent the best people from getting the more desirable full-time positions. Let the part-time people apply and the decision be based upon the best candidate for the job.
