Summary: Introduced by Sen. Mark Schoesler, (R-Ritzville) (R) on January 20, 2009, to authorize the higher education coordinating board to offer annuities and retirement plans in the same manner that the boards and regents of higher education institutions are allowed to do so. However this act prohibits the coordinating board from purchasing annuities for or offering a retirement plan for employees already receiving benefits through other public retirement systems.
