Introduced by Rep. Al O'Brien, (D-Mountlake Terrace) (D) on January 19, 2010, reinstates description and offense categories for juvenile crimes. The act makes the unlawful possession of a firearm for minors between 18 and 21 punishable for a greater term in juvenile detention. The act also makes the possession of a firearm for minors under 18, a crime punishable for a greater term as well. First time offenders for minor in possession of a firearm may receive an alternate disposition from the court.
