Introduced by Rep. Mike Hope, (R-Lake Stevens) (R) on February 10, 2009, exempts a residence purchased by a first-time home buyer from property taxes levied for any state purpose. Exemption applies only to taxes levied for collection in 2010 and 2011.

Please show me in the constitution where some taxpayers should be required to pay the property taxes of others? Because this is their first house they SHOULD DEFINITELY pay taxes. Otherwise, when they eventually have to pay, it may force them into foreclosure. And then we will have yet another need for a bailout.

This type of program is exactly what got us into the mess we are currently in.
