Introduced by Rep. Tami Green, (D-Lakewood) (D) on January 20, 2009, allows a city’s legislative authority to impose a sales and use tax within annexed areas if the annexed area comprises one or more military bases or is located in a city with a population between eight and nine hundred thousand, The maximum rate imposed by the city in such cases is 0.2 percent from all annexed areas within a city. Limits the use of collected revenue under this tax for the purchase of real estate, clearing of land, or razing existing structures.
