Summary: Introduced by Rep. Sharon Nelson, (D-West Seattle) (D) on January 19, 2009, to increase the number of positions of tenured employees at community and technical colleges. This bill requires community and technical colleges to work through the collective bargaining process by October 1, 2009 to increase the number of full-time positions. The intent of this legislation is to turn part-time non-tenured positions into full-time tenured positions. (See also Companion SB 5538).
