Introduced by Rep. Glenn Anderson, (R-Fall City) (R) on January 19, 2009, state universities will no longer receive state funding for remedial courses designed for under performing students not ready for university or college level courses in mathematics, reading or writing. Colleges must only offer these course on a self-supporting basis, except for courses designed for English language learners.
