Introduced by Rep. Jeff Morris, (D-Mt. Vernon) (D) on January 12, 2009, requires commercial website operators to conspicuously post their privacy policy to their customers and users as well as identify the categories of personally identifiable information that the operator collects through the website or online service. Commercial website operators must also disclose the category or type of third party entities with whom they will share that personal information. Also requires commercial website operators to adequately describe certain processes such as how a user may make changes to their personal information or how the operator should notify its customers of changes to their privacy policy .
